The quality of any practise and the catalyst to your development lies in the accuracy of your self-reflection on your errors. This means that your practice needs to be carried out in full awareness.
When practising your putting be aware of all the sub-skills that are involved and which ones you want to focus on primarily.
♦ Stroke mechanics ♦ Face alignment ♦ Green reading ♦ The perception of curve and speed combinations ♦ Distance control ♦ Mindfulness and clarity under pressure.
In order that we make real measurable progress, I would want to isolate these so I have absolute feedback on one or two areas. If you just putt around the green aimlessly then there is too much 'noise' for you to reflect with enough accuracy on your performance.
