Ball Above Feet
Face Plane Tilt
Remember that it is the loft on the club that effectively aims the face to the left. The more loft you are using and the more severe the slope, the ball will start further to the left and curve.
This is easy to get wrong if we swing too steep, either in the back swing or downswing. The downswing should feel like you are swinging under the plane of the back swing. In this instance, the right hand will feel on its back for most of the down swing. Aim to brush the grass with a shallow approach angle.
• Hold down the handle and stand more upright than normal
• Make a flatter backswing. Visualise a baseball swing around your back.
• The ball will curve left so aim to the right. Due to the loft aim further right with short irons.
